Music Thursday: Niyaz “Dunya”

Because Monday is already taken. This column will feature music I listen to when I write, or maybe sometimes music I just like (and therefore think everyone else should, too).

This song is yet another one for the soundtrack to Daughters of Shadow and Blood – Book I: Yasamin by Niyaz. Dunya means “world” in Urdu, and this song is full of longing and regret, again perfect for one particular scene:

The lyrics are based on a poem by a Sufi mystic.
