Music Thursday: Mannheim Steamroller “Veni, Veni, Emmanuel”

Because Monday is already taken. This column will feature music I listen to when I write, or maybe sometimes music I just like (and therefore think everyone else should, too).

Latin makes everything more awesome! To kick off the Christmas season, here is one of my favorites carols:

“O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” was actually originally in Latin, having its roots in medieval Gregorian chants for Advent. Mannheim Steamroller, while admittedly sometimes schlocky, did well returning the song to those roots with this haunting rendition.
