Music Thursday: Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture

Because Monday is already taken. This column will feature music I listen to when I write, or maybe sometimes music I just like (and therefore think everyone else should, too).

Sometimes when I run, I play this and pretend like I’m dodging the cannon fire. Because.

The 1812 Overture commemorates the defeat of Naopleonic France by Imperial Russia and actually has nothing to do with the War of 1812 or the United States at all, but it has become popular during 4th of July celebrations, for reasons.
