Because Monday is already taken. This column will feature music I listen to when I write, or maybe sometimes music I just like (and therefore think everyone else should, too).
I’ve been thinking about a new Southern Gothic story over the last several days, and this song came to mind. I love hearing the mandolin and the fiddle together with the slightly angry sounding beat, and the melancholy lyrics together with the gritty, surreal images from the video evoke the mood I want to portray:
The group is of course Nickel Creek, an acoustic progressive/bluegrass trio, and after a hiatus of almost seven years, they have thankfully gotten back together.
