Thoughts on Superpowers

Is there something wrong with me?

I’m thirty-three years old, and on occasion I still have an internal debate with myself about what superpower would be the most awesome to have.  Then it occurs to me that Superman has more than one superpower, so why should I shortchange myself?  I can stay on this train of thought for hours until I have to remind myself that Superman is a fictional character and that my chances of developing superpowers are very small.

If there’s something wrong with you, there’s something wrong with a lot of us. Once in a while, I do the same, but the question seems to be settled. Unless immortality counts as a super power, I’d like psyonic abilities: Telekinesis and Psychokinesis being the two that come to mind, though the ability to gather force from light and exert it as an invisible wave of kinetic energy is also pretty cool.

As for actually attaining the powers: Well, radioactive sludge COULD drench you and grant you super powers, instead of, you know, killing you in the most horrific way possible. There’s a chance, right?

And if Stephen King is to be believed, then we already have a form of mind to mind communication via our writing.

Well, technically you don’t need any. Just become a billionaire, build yourself a bat cave, and wear a hood with ears. There ya go.

Good point about Superman. But would you necessarily want HIS powers? I mean, you’d want to pick and choose, and really every superhero has to have a weakness…I guess I’m rambling to say maybe you could choose two or three, but not like ten. That would be too many.
