If not an online catalog, do you use any other method to catalog your book collection? Excel spreadsheets, index cards, a notebook, anything?
No. I’ve made several aborted attempts at using a spreadsheet, but it takes time and effort to do something like that, and I find that I don’t follow through to keep things up to date.
Besides, I still harbor fantasies of living in an old labrynthine house one day where every room is basically a library and books spill off of the shelves and onto to tables, cascade down the stairs, and accumulate in the corners. What’s the fun of living in a house like that when you have everything catalogued?
